Department Services
The Engineering Division is responsible for a wide range of services related to infrastructure planning, design, and construction oversight. Our key responsibilities include:
Engineering analysis, design, and cost estimating for public works projects
Preparation of plans, specifications, and contract documents for capital improvement projects
Land surveying, drafting, and design work for public infrastructure projects
Review of engineering plans submitted for City board approvals (e.g., Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, and Conservation Commission)
Procedures and current projects under review are available on the Development Services website.
Field investigations and inspections for water and sewer service connections
Construction management and administration for City infrastructure projects, including the reconstruction of streets and sidewalks
Maintenance of all engineering plans and records for the City of Lowell
