[ARCHIVED] Fall 2018 Roadway Project the Sunshine Paving



The City of Lowell recently awarded a contract to Sunshine Paving, Inc. for the amount of $1,900,000 for roadway improvements and sidewalk work throughout the City. Sunshine Paving is scheduled to start the roadway and sidewalk work beginning October 1, 2018 and work will continue through November 2018 and will start up again in the spring of 2019.

The roads which will be impacted include entirety or portions of the following: Melrose Street, Shirley Street, Lexington Street, Bedford Street, Varnum Avenue, Nelson Street, Karen Street, Rule Lane, Meadow Drive, Ina Street, Fowler Road, Knapp Avenue, Beaver Street, Prince Street, C Street, Butterfield Street, Avalon Street, Manufacturer Street, West Sixth Street, Trotting Park Road, Shadow Drive, Linda Lane, Forest Park Lane, Robin Lane, Tower Drive, Lafayette Street, Alma Street, Rosemont Street, Sparks Street, Pemberton Street, 17th Street and 18th Street

The City of Lowell appreciates your patience during this construction project.

Drivers who are unable to avoid the work areas should watch for construction signs and for directions from Police Officers and to be aware of moving equipment in the road. Drivers should use caution at all times until paving is completed due to the rough surface and obstructions in the road. Drivers should expect delays, and be prepared to stop and proceed slowly through the construction zone and/or detour route.
