Rourke Bridge

Rourke Bridge Replacement Project

Online Public Information Meeting

MassDOT invites you to an online public information meeting for the Rourke Bridge Replacement Project, hosted on Zoom.
Wednesday, December 9, 2020
6:00 PM to 7:30 PM

MassDOT is pleased to inform you that the next phase of the Rourke Bridge Replacement Project is now underway. The purpose of the meeting is to gather input on proposed alignments and community needs. For the safety of the Project Team and meeting attendees, this meeting will be hosted online, via Zoom.
The Rourke Bridge serves as a critical transportation link over the Merrimack River in Lowell, carrying approximately 27,000 vehicles per day. The existing, temporary bridge was built in 1983, and is nearing the end of its useful service life.
The current project phase builds on the NMCOG Feasibility Study, which was completed in 2013. Based on the Feasibility Study, MassDOT is moving forward with the replacement of the Rourke Bridge. This phase will include preliminary design and environmental permitting. Construction will take place during the next phase of the project.
Details on how to join and participate in the meeting will be posted on the project website and shared with the project email list prior to the meeting.
