John J. McKenna is a First Assistant City Solicitor in the City of Lowell Law Department. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Francis Xavier University, Nova Scotia in 1989, and his J.D. from Massachusetts School of Law in 1996.
Before joining the City in July 2022, John was a sole-practitioner specializing in litigation of land ownership and zoning issues; commercial and residential real estate conveyancing; zoning and building law; civil and criminal litigation; probate and family law; Appellate Tax Board and tax lien foreclosures.
John previously worked for the City as the City Paralegal with the Law Department and Treasurer’s Office from 1990 to 1998. He also worked as an Assistant City Solicitor/Tax Title Director from 1998 to 2009.
John is admitted to practice in Massachusetts.
