The City Manager, as Chief Executive Officer of the City, is responsible for providing leadership to and administration of all City departments and services. The Manager and his staff are responsible for the enforcement of all relevant laws and ordinances; the appointment of department heads and members of numerous boards and commissions; and for the submissions of the annual budget to the City Council. The Manager also recommends policies and programs to the City Council and implements Council legislation. The City Manager and his staff respond to citizen inquiries and requests regarding City services and departmental policies.
In addition to these responsibilities, there are other specific activities that are controlled through this department. These including marketing development, cable access support, cultural affairs, and special events. Staff also supports the logistics of major events such as WinterFest.
