Overview

The LRWWU operates an ISO 14001:2015-certified wastewater system that is designed to transport, treat, and safely dispose of wastewater, stormwater, and domestic septage from the City of Lowell and the surrounding towns of Chelmsford, Dracut, Tewksbury, and Tyngsborough.

We are the Lowell Regional Wastewater Utility, a dedicated group of utility administrators, operations and maintenance specialists, scientists and engineers charged with protecting public health and the environment by responsibly managing wastewater and stormwater in and around Lowell. We operate under permits from the U.S. EPA, Army Corps of Engineers, and Mass DEP, adhering to the standards set by the industry to provide outstanding service at reasonable rates.
