Disability Indicator Program

About the Disability Indicator Program

Planning before an emergency happens can save lives! During an emergency calling 911 can save your life. If you or someone in your family needs to communicate over the phone by a TTY or has a disability that may hinder evacuation or transport, you may want to join the "Disability Indicator Program."

With this program, codes are displayed on the 911 dispatcher's screen automatically giving the first responders (ambulance, police and fire) the facts needed to safely provide the help needed.

If you have a disability and landline telephone service, you may qualify to have a unique code appear during 911 calls to indicate to emergency services that you may require special assistance. Click here to learn more and to sign-up.
