The City of Lowell provides an opportunity for residents to drop off unwanted medications and sharps four times per year at its Unwanted Medication and Sharps Disposal Days.

  • Inhalers
  • Syringes
  • Lancets
  • Pen and Pump Needles
  • Narcan (Naloxone HCI)

Residential Disposal Only - No commercial disposal.

Additional Tips

Put medications away

  • Place medications in a locked drawer, pouch,
    cabinet or safe
  • Keep count of the pills in each bottle
  • Ask the parents of your child's friends to
    safeguard their medications as well

  • Bring medications to the Lowell Police
    Department Drop-off Kiosk at 50 Arcand Dr.
  • Bring medications to the Walgreens
    Pharmacy Drop-off Kiosk at 54 Plain St.
