The City of Lowell provides an opportunity for residents to drop off unwanted medications and sharps four times per year at its Unwanted Medication and Sharps Disposal Days.

Residential Disposal Only - No commercial disposal.

Additional Tips

Put medications away

  • Place medications in a locked drawer, pouch, cabinet or safe
  • Keep count of the pills in each bottle
  • Ask the parents of your child's friends to safeguard their medications as well

Dispose of medications

  • Bring medications to the Lowell Police Department Drop-off Kiosk at 50 Arcand Drive
  • Participate in the next City of Lowell Unwanted Medication and Sharps Disposal Day
