Budget

The Budget Department is tasked with the production and implementation of the City's Operating and Capital Budgets. The Department also monitors fiscal, operational, and personnel data in order to make City of Lowell government more efficient, effective, and transparent.

FY2026 Budget Updates:

  • On May 13, 2025, the City Manager and his finance team delivered a copy of the proposed FY2026 budget to the Lowell City Council. The link to the proposed budget is above, with a full, PDF version in the document section below. The public hearing for the budget is scheduled for May 27, 2025 in the City Council Chambers.
  • In February 2025, the City Manager, Asst. City Manager/CFO, and the Deputy CFO hosted the first of several community input sessions on the FY2026 budget. An informational item was also delivered to the City Council regarding the upcoming budget presentation. Please stay tuned to this page for further updates through the budget season.
