Saint Louis Sponge Park Phase 1

Construction began April 2025 and is expected to be complete April 2026.

The basketball courts were completed in July and are open to the public! The playground will remain closed through April, but the rest of the park will remain open during construction.

Looking for an alternative playground or basketball court to enjoy while Saint Louis Park is closed? Check Hovey Playground right up the street, the City's first universally accessible playground upgraded in 2021. For basketball, there are 2 courts at nearby McPherson Park (which also has a playground) and 1 at Eagle Park.
