About Veteran's Services


In accordance with Massachusetts General Law Chapter 115, Section 108, the Veterans Services Department is charged with taking applications for veterans' benefits and for providing financial and medical assistance to qualified, indigent veterans and their dependents.


The department is also responsible for dispensing other state-sponsored benefits and assisting veterans and their dependents or survivors in obtaining federal benefits, and acts as the burial agent for the City, arranging for the proper internment of deceased veterans in accordance with state regulations

Veteran's Services Flag Placing Event


The City of Lowell Veteran's Services Department will be placing over 1,800 flags in honor of all service members that were killed in action for all wars. If you would like to volunteer to help place flags for this event, please fill out the registration below.
