Additional trees will also be planted. |

Project Updates:
November 2025
- The park will open Saturday!! Please join us for the ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate this park transformation.
- Date: Saturday, November 8th

- Location: 294 Chelmsford St. (behind Lincoln Elementary)
October 2025
- Just a few last things before construction is complete. A full safety inspection is scheduled for mid-October. Park re-opening details coming soon!
August 2025
- Due to a delay in the shipping of the play structures, the anticipated completion date has been pushed back to late October.
June 2025
THE NEW PLAYGROUND IS COMING SOON!
- The playground and basketball court will be temporarily closed starting Monday, June 23rd. Construction is anticipated to be complete in August 2025.
March 2025
- A contractor has been selected. DPD is preparing for construction. More info coming soon!
January 2025
- Designs are complete! A contractor will soon be selected to build the new playground.
October 2024
- Designs are in progress. Construction is expected to start spring 2025.
April 2024
- Design has begun! Community engagement events coming soon.

Help us design a playground!
The City of Lowell and CBA Landscape Architects are looking for feedback on what residents wants to see at the Durkin Park playground, which is located behind Lincoln Elementary School. The survey will take about 5 minutes to complete and is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Khmer, and Swahili.
